SCA, a Swedish leader in the manufacturing of paper, pulp and wood products, has accelerated corporate innovation efforts by partnering with Vocean AB to digitize internal collaboration with as many as 500 employees in its Ortviken location.

Vocean, founded in 2017, with offices in Gävle and Stockholm, provide a digital innovation platform that allows any employee to contribute ideas and invite colleagues, customers and partners to submit feedback through real-time activities performed on mobile phones and web browsers.

By leveraging Vocean’s platform, SCA Ortviken is looking to tap into the collective intelligence of its workforce by empowering the employees to contribute new, creative ideas for continuous improvements. “SCA Ortviken is excited to work with Vocean to give every one of our brilliant employees an opportunity to make their voice heard, and trigger spontaneous collaboration around ideas that will really impact the future of how the mill is operating,” says Production Manager Christer Nordstrand.

“Our partnership with SCA is a real win-win,” says Vocean Founder Peter Kollin. “Our platform will enable the SCA organization to initiate a company-wide dialog with their employees on issues that really matter, while Vocean will benefit from working with a key customer at scale, and get feedback that will help us to continue to improve our offering. We are looking forward to our partnership with SCA and collaborating with them on future initiatives.”

SCA Ortviken will start rolling out the Vocean platform to employees in February. In parallel, Vocean will partner with prominent lecturer and researcher Johan Larsson to author an extensive case study on the project.
