Swedish Equestrian Federation

How the Swedish Equestrian Federation used Vocean to collect over 1,000 ideas from their ecosystem and strengthen participation in the sport.

Summarized

With this, the Swedish Equestrian Federation shows a perfect example of how organisations can use AI to strengthen co-creation. With Vocean, they were able to collect 1,000+ ideas from their ecosystem. They were able to engage their stakeholders and collaborate to solve the federation's grand challenges. With the help of AI analysis, they were able to quickly gain insights and take action based on their findings.

About the Swedish equestrian federation

The Swedish Equestrian Federation is a specialised sports federation within the Swedish Sports Confederation, which brings together approx. 140,000 members and 800 affiliated riding clubs throughout Sweden. The association works to promote equestrian sports at all levels – from exercise and grassroots activities to elite and championships – while promoting issues of horse welfare and safe environments.

The Challenge

The need at the Swedish Equestrian Federation was to create participation and commitment within the sport in connection with setting the direction for the organisation. The need at the Swedish Equestrian Federation was to create participation and commitment within the sport in connection with setting the direction for the organisation. Involving broadly and collecting ideas from many people often means heavy processes with a lot of administrative work. It was important to be able to work together in the organisation, learn from each other and quickly move from idea, to co-creation, to action.

The Solution

The first thing the Swedish Equestrian Federation did in Vocean was to spread the word widely via its website and Facebook with a Vocean link. There, they invited everyone to brainstorm around two major, so-called "fateful questions." In a short time, responses came in from over 1,000 people, and the federation had thus built up a "bank" of everyone's thoughts. They were then able to use Vocean's AI to ask questions to this bank and thus find out what the biggest challenges were, but also to come up with new questions in order to generate solutions around them. These answers became the basis for a number of different processes within the federation. One example of a process was to include Vocean's three proposed workshop questions as part of the agenda at the Ridsportforum conference. Here, Vocean was used as a workshop tool to co-create around the challenges that had been identified and to prioritize solutions together. This meant that at the end of the workshop, AI reports with solutions could be generated that could be fed back directly to the participants. It was also possible to ask questions about the collected solutions, such as "What are the three most important things we can start working on today?" and "What trends can we see?"

Key insights

AI reports and analyses that could be sent out at the end of the workshop

An idea bank that can be used to make more informed decisions about the direction of the organisation

A stronger relationship with members who can influence the direction of the organisation
